A Welcome Message from Sheri Van Horsen

My name is Sheri Van Horsen, and I am a candidate for the Arizona House of Representatives, District 9. I am running for the State House of Representatives because nothing has changed. Arizona is stagnant with the current leadership. Arizonans want improvements over the current situtation: bad decisions, a lack of hard work in addressing Arizona’s problems, and a lack of attention to Arizona's long-term needs.

I know that Arizonans want their representatives to address transportation, education, health care, water conservation, air quality, economic hardships, the current mortgage crisis, and consumer protection— all of which have taken a back seat to special-interest bills and political grandstanding. Arizonans wonder when the Legislature will seriously address these issues.

Too many of our legislators are serving their own self interests, not the interests of the voters. That is not good government. Voters hire legislators to work hard and deal with the business of running the state and addressing their concerns. But our current leadership has more often than not cut several elected representatives out of the political process completely; that's an affront to the voters of those districts who freely and democratically elected those representatives to be their voice and work on their concerns.

In Arizona, change in our legislature is past due and is necessary to correct past mistakes and act on what Arizonans really need.
